In this novel, we meet Claudia, a witty 36 year old teacher, who is ready to settle down with her inventor boyfriend, Adam. Adam is confined to a wheelchair, a result of being paralyzed from the waist down after a tragic accident in his early twenties. After spending months working on a top secret invention, he finally shows it to Claudia. He has created a TIME MACHINE! Adam has one request of Claudia–to go back in time and make sure that his accident never occurs. He would go himself, but being in a wheelchair puts him at a serious disadvantage. In the hopes that this will make Adam move past his obvious commitment issues, Claudia agrees. How hard could it be, right? Adam has done a test run involving a rabbit, so he knows that it will work.
Will Claudia be able to stop Adam’s accident from ever occurring? Or will revisiting the past make it so they never end up together? Let alone like each other?
Going back and meeting her 20 year old self was never Claudia’s plan, but after a botched first attempt at stopping Adam’s accident, Claudia came up with an entirely new plan. One that Adam was completely unaware of. Or was he?
What I really liked about this book was the ending. Usually in reading, I don’t like the endings, mainly because it means the book is over, but I was pretty satisfied with this ending.
Oh, what a wonderful little book this was. I really enjoyed it. There were parts where I felt like saying “Oh, come on!” because you start to formulate your own plan for Claudia (or at least I did.) There were times where I was upset with her, because some of her actions seemed as though they would truly jeopardize both her and Adam’s entire future. Overall, this was a really cute story. You really grow to love both Adam and Claudia and really pull for them to end up together after everything that happens when Claudia revisits the past. I would definitely recommend this!
