Author Jen Turano continues her Ladies of Distinction series with A Talent for Trouble, the third book in the series. This novel tells the story of Felicia Murdock, a young woman who believes she’s destined to marry her local minister. But when he marries another lady, Felicia finds herself re-evaluating everything she does; from the fashion she wears, to whether or not she really dreams of being a minister’s wife.
Grayson Sumner, otherwise known as Lord Sefton, is a handsome man with a troubled past. The handsome gentleman hopes to make a respectable life for himself in New York with his adopted daughter Ming. In a quest to play matchmaker, mutual friends of Felicia and Grayson attempt to put the two of them together, with disastrous results. But despite their disagreements and talent for getting each other into trouble, the two are still drawn together. But will Grayson’s mysterious past in China come back to haunt him and ruin his potential relationship with Felicia?
A fantastic read from cover to cover, Turano writes a brilliant romance about two people who couldn’t be more different, or more drawn to each other. Their humorous and sometimes dangerous antics made me laugh out loud. Set in 1880’s New York, this story is sure to appeal to Historical Fiction fans, and Grayson Sumner is a male lead that romance fans won’t soon forget.
