passenger book coverReviewed by Amanda Farmer

I will admit to wanting to review Passenger simply because of its cover–it’s gorgeous. But then, I read the description and fell in love with it. After all, who doesn’t love a book with time travel in it? Passenger by Alexandra Bracken has it all: love, adventure, time travel, mystery, murder, history, danger lurking around every corner, and betrayal all thrown into one. This book will not disappoint the reader. I could not put it down and I am anxiously awaiting for the sequel. I have to find out what happens!

Passenger is the story of Etta and Nicholas and how they are thrown together by the Ironwoods family. Etta finds out that she has inherited a legacy she had no idea about and must find a certain object before the Ironwoods. She has lost everything she loves and knows and now must decide whether or not to trust Nicholas, who has always been content with his life at sea. Will he be friend or foe? You will have to read the book to find out. During their long journey over centuries and continents, they will encounter dangers at every turn, unravel the clues meant for Etta’s eyes only, and try to avoid changing the time lines too much. All Etta wants is to return home…or is it?

Passenger was beautifully written and I felt like I was in the story with the characters. Bracken has created a beautiful story filled with secrets, romance, and betrayals. We are able to see Etta grow as a character. I loved Nicholas’ character and how he thought he had it all figured out but then he didn’t when it came to Etta.

If you love books filled with adventure and romance, you will not be disappointed with this one. This was my first story by Bracken and it definitely will not be my last–I can’t wait for future installments in this series!
