This now on my wish list. When I first saw the title, I thought it was a town in China which is spelled close to it, Jenan! I focused on a single word of the review: authentic and that sold me. I am grateful to the reviewer for giving this picture of the book. Along with India, China, Southeast Asia and I have always been fascinated with the Middle East.

This review is so much better than the wee blurb I stumbled across posted with the cover on a random site! The blurb left me rather confused and thinking this wouldn't be a book I'd be interested in ... but WOW. Even knowing ahead of time it's an emotionally draining/intensive read, I'm going to have to dive in. I was a history major, and did my non-Western world courses in Middle East studies - an area that fascinates and enchants me. This definitely is something I am going to have to read ...

I have seen this book and wondered if I would like it. What I like so much about the reviews on your website is that they not only give a synopsis of the stories but give us insider information into how it reads, character development and other plus/minuses of the book. Adding to the review that the book is divided into short chapters is very helpful to me as I hate feeling like I can't find an adequate stopping place in a book that needs to be absorbed and read a little more slowly and cautiously than an easier read. This is going on my TBR list!
