Giveaway: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

[ 27 ] December 10, 2012 |

I have a copy of Jojo Moyes’ new book, Me Before You, and a beautiful poster to give away!

About the book

Louisa Clark (or Lou, as she’s known) lives a life about as big as the tiny English village she calls home. She loves being a waitress and figures she’ll eventually marry Patrick, her longtime boyfriend. When she unexpectedly loses her job, she must scramble to replace the income that her tight-knit family depends on. Out of desperation, she takes a job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor. Will used to live a life full of high-stakes deals, adventurous vacations, and beautiful women. Now, due to a tragic accident, his life is suddenly restricted beyond his control and he has lost all desire to live.

Will keeps everyone at a distance with his caustic and pushy attitude. Unlike his family, however, Lou refuses to tiptoe around him and cater to his bad moods. Soon they become exactly what the other needs. Seeing how hopeless Will is about his future, Lou plans a series of adventures (and mis-adventures) to try and convince him that life can be worth living. In turn, Will attempts to persuade Lou that she doesn’t have to confine herself to a small existence. As they set about changing each other’s lives, what emerges is a love story that is as complex as it is beautiful.a Rafflecopter giveaway

Sounds like both a culture clash and clash of temperaments involved, which can make for interesting reading.

I’ve read this book a couple of months ago and it’s become one of my favorite books of all time. It sends the message across without sounding to preachy.

I like that it is set in England and about a regular (non-glamorous woman)

This sounds so refreshing! I guess I just think so many people just make life choices on what they know and not really opening themselves up to the adventure life can give them. I can’t wait to read it.

I think what appeals me to this book is the two different characters. That makes it a interesting read to me. :)

It sounds interesting…two different people from different different backgrounds and how they will come together in such an odd way by basically bothering each other.

I already have a copy of Me Before You so I am not entering the giveaway but I just want to say how much I enjoyed reading this book. It is sweet and sometimes even funny though it tackles profound subjects as whether we should have the right to chose to leave this world when life is too tough and the pain too unbearable. Me Before You is extreemly subtle and moving. You care for the characters and you surprise yourself thinking about them long after you have finished the book as if they were real people you met. Great read. Wish you all good luck to get a copy!

There is so much that appeals to me about this book. First off, the cover just has a classic, inviting feel to me (however weird that sounds :)). Secondly, I heard an author I follow on Facebook rave about it, so that makes me even more intrigued to pick it up. Finally, the premise is just wonderful, two people being exactly what the other one needs at the right time. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

I am not so sure that what the book is about appeals to me as much as I loved JoJo Moyes first book and can’t wait to read more by her. I am sure this is just as good.
