Law & Order: Los Angeles will explore new, unique cases of the Los Angeles area when the new series premieres on Wednesday, September 29th at 10 pm on NBC.

Like many spin-offs before it, the new series will be introduced in an episode of Law & Order: SVU, airing at 9 pm on the same night. Detective Rex Winters (portrayed by Skeet Ulrich) will be introduced in an investigation involving a rape kit that will take SVU’s Detective Olivia Benson to Los Angeles.

Corey Stoll will star as Detective Tomas Jarusalski, the son of an Oscar-winning Polish cinematographer who knows the seedy side of Tinseltown all too well.

Possibly the most exciting members of the cast are its two Deputy District Attorneys, portrayed by Alfred Molina (An Education, Spiderman 2) and Terrence Howard (Iron Man, Crash). The two actors will be splitting the work load on Law & Order: Los Angeles in an effort to stay involved in movie projects. Also starring in the series are Regina Hall, Megan Boone, and Wanda de Jesus.

As reported by TV Guide, the first episode of the new show will be titled “Hollywood,” and is inspired by the real-life “Bling Ring Burglars,” who were accused of robbing the homes of high-profile celebrities including Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton, among others. Much like its predecessors, expect Law & Order: Los Angeles to pull inspiration from true-to-life celebrity headlines and tragedies.

With its promising cast and interesting, West Coast-inspired storylines, this new installment is sure to entertain audiences who felt the sting of the cancellation of the original Law & Order. Will you be tuning in to the new series?
