Isa Does It: Amazingly Easy, Wildly Delicious Vegan Recipes for Every Day of the Week by Isa Chandra Moskowitz is an inspirational, fun cookbook.

While it is true I am not hard core vegan, and my husband runs at the sight of beans (or tofu), I still love vegan recipes and eats. And coming in at over three hundred pages thick, there are plenty of recipes that I will enjoy making and my husband will enjoy eating in this new guilty pleasure of a cookbook. Isa Does It covers everything from soups and salads to desserts. Happily, most of the recipes have ingredients that are easy to find, which is always a plus since I live in a small town that lacks creativity when it comes to stocking the grocery store shelves. I am especially looking forward to trying out the queso blanco bowl with crispy kale (and yes . . . cheese dip made without cheese!), the mac and cheese recipes, banana berry scones, and one of everything listed in the dessert section.

If it is not enough that this book packs in recipes that are fun (read: easy and understandable) to make, my husband would eat (and maybe even love), and with ingredients that even I can find, the photos and fun fonts throughout are my form of eye candy. The titles of each recipe almost look hand doodled giving the book a personal level — as if Isa is one of your best friends handing over some of her favorite dishes. There is also a great conversion chart in the back of the book as well.

Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s Isa Does It really does it when it comes to making easy vegan meals from scratch. With recipes easy to read and ingredients easy to find this would make the perfect gift for a vegan (or not) friend or family member this upcoming holiday season!
