Food. One of the most controversial topics in the entire world. Why? Everyone wants to be healthy but cannot put down the bacon double cheeseburger or large french fry. Everyone loves to talk about exercising and getting fit but cannot drive to the gym because they are too busy driving to the closer McDonald’s or Taco Bell. The reality is, healthy seems to be a fad of conversation rather than a way of life. If you believe this to be true or struggle with understanding health, Superlife is perfect for you.

Seldom does a book come along that explains so well why we are and should be doing something. In Lift, Daniel Kunitz does an excellent job of going over the reasons we lift and why we need to lift, as well as breaking open some myths about lifting along the way.

Let’s begin with what this book isn’t. Although there are elements of workouts related to lifting in the text, this is not a workout book nor is it a weight loss book. That said, if you do follow some of the guidelines reviewed in the book, you are practically guaranteed to lose weight.

Everywhere we go we see hand sanitizers and antibacterial soaps claiming to kill off 99.9% of the germs we could potentially come in contact with and stating that they will help keep us safe. But have we as a society gotten so obsessed with being anti-germ that we’ve gone too far? Dr. Josh Axe has written Eat Dirt to help show us that instead of running away from germs and dirt we need to be embracing the dirt and getting it back into our lives. By exposing ourselves to small amounts of local dirt and micro-organisms, we allow our body to build up the good bacteria which then helps it to naturally fight off the

UnDressed follows the personal account of author Mark Cornelison as he shares the story of his experience before, during and after his time as a contestant and finalist on NBC’s show The Biggest Loser. While the reality television show is all about losing physical weight, this book looks at what other things we need to take off in order to become better people and live better lives.

During his time on the show, Mark discovered who He is to God and that discovery shaped his life going forward. He challenges the reader to experience their own transformation by highlighting things we need to “take off” or undress in our lives. Among others, those things include stress, fear and a self-focus. In addition, he suggests we need to “put on” a proper understanding of God’s grace, a love for people

The self-help book Fat Loser!, by Steve Siebold is a book for those who are serious about losing weight. Siebold spares no excuses and often uses some of his own struggles with weight issues as antidotes throughout. Although at times this book can be repetitive, if the reader chooses to read one of the hundred and one strategies per day, this can be a great reminder that the battle of losing weight is not an easy one, but one worth doing. Every reminder comes with a scenario followed by an argument for Siebold’s reasoning. Just when the reader feels that there is little to no compassion in his efforts, one will see the logic behind Siebold’s reasoning and a slight softening of rhetoric. Each challenge has an action plan. Some are very useful (Make a list of
