My stepgrandma’s name was Georgia. Boy, she could cook the best candied yams. I just love the cover of this book.

Back when this book came out, I was instantly drawn to it. Georgia is my mother’s name and book has something to do with cooking. But as the reviews came in, I was disppointed. I read that the middle of the book could have been reduced a lot, that rhe book needed to be shorter. I have read books with a saggy mattress quality before so I decided to pass it up. It’s too bad, because I still love the title and the cover.

This book sounds intriguing. It has always been my secret daydream to run away to Italy and start fresh. My friend’s grandmother lives in Italy and she brings home photos of the town and the people. Its’ quite charming especially when they have parties in the street and the whole town is invited.
I heard that Italy has the highest standard of living than any other western nation and I could see why: when the whole town are friends, how could you be unhappy?
