Last night’s episode of The Event found Sean racing to get to Leila, and the President struggling to understand an enemy he cannot see.

Leila’s captors have moved her to a dark basement in a suburban home. When Carter drops a beer bottle on the floor, Leila recovers a piece of glass he missed, using it to attempt to cut the ropes that bind her.

Sean and Collier have managed to escape, and are on the run attempting to find Vicky, their only connection to Leila at this point. Using the aliases that they knowhe , and

This week’s episode of The Event opens with a frazzled Sean tending to an injured Agent Collier in a hotel room. How did they get there? Well you can bet that in true Event fashion, you’re about to find out in a flashback.

We discover that two hours earlier, when the agents and Sean were re-directed to another highway, an RV behind them failed to stop, colliding with the agent’s car, killing Agent Hobbes and the police officer who told them about the detour.

Sean tries to convince Agent Collier to allow him to search for Vicky’s

Last week on The Event, a plane heading directly toward a presidential garden party suddenly disappeared into a strange blue light.

In the beginning of the second episode of the season, viewers saw the disappearance from the perspective of those on the plane. When Sean emerges from a crash landing, he finds that they are in the middle of the desert. Once all of the passengers are off of the plane, he locates Leila’s father Michael, and Michael tells Sean that Leila and his other daughter have been taken, and that Vicky, the young woman from the cruise, is somehow involved. Scott Patterson delivers a powerful performance,

Meg M., our resident TV show reviewer, has been busy previewing shows like Sister Wives, No Ordinary Family and Law & Order: Los Angeles. The one show that really caught her eye was The Event, and she will be discussing the episodes right here at Luxury Reading each week.  The Event premiered on NBC on Monday, September 20th.

NBC’s The Event opened as promised…with a bang.

The premiere episode was displayed in fragments, opening on a scene where the ground appeared to be shaking beneath a formal lunch or dinner event. Suddenly the viewer is taken into a plane with a nervous Sean Walker, who pulls a gun and tries to get into the cockpit.

We find that days earlier, Sean was enjoying a cruise with his girlfriend, Leila.

Programs like Jon & Kate Plus Eight and 19 Kids and Counting have raised the eyebrows of many viewers. But that’s nothing compared to the buzz about TLC’s newest reality show, Sister Wives.

The new 7-part series follows advertising executive Kody Brown, a polygamist from Utah with three (going on four) wives and 13 children. Sister Wives will chronicle the day-to-day emotional and financial struggles of this ever-expanding Mormon family, and will also explore Kody’s attempts to keep their lifestyle a secret. Well, I think the secret it out.

The Event is an emotional American conspiracy thriller starring Jason Ritter (The Class) and Scott Patterson, of Gilmore Girls fame. Ritter is Sean Walker, an ordinary young man who stumbles upon the biggest cover-up in U.S. history when his fiancée Leila disappears. Sean’s quest to uncover his Leila’s whereabouts will affect the lives of complete strangers, including U.S. President Martinez (portrayed by Blair Underwood), Sophia, the leader of a group of detainees, and Sean’s almost-father-in-law.

Don’t expect The Event to be like the recently defunct Flash Forward or dearly departed Lost. E Online’s Kristin, as well as the bosses behind

NBC’s latest Thursday night comedy, Outsourced, is adapted from the 2006 romantic comedy of the same name. Outsourced tells the story of Todd Dempsey, a 25-year-old man who works for an-American company making novelties. That is, until the call center is outsourced to India, and Todd is moved there to manage a group of less-than-enthusiastic Indian employees. Very quickly, he learns that he must teach his staff about America in order to increase sales and stay competitive with other American managers.

From what we’ve seen of NBC’s previews of the comedy, it seems like the show has the potential to be funny once
