Hello! My name is Soraia and my Etsy shop is 23hearts. I’m a grad student studying to be a Special Education teacher, but I really enjoy making handmade things for my shop. I sew and embroider handmade gifts with fun and modern fabrics. I make zipper pouches, reusable drink sleeves, love ninjas, and love owls, among other things.

Hi, I am emjay of emjayslovings. I am a photographer, but I had to put on my thinking cap to come up with a slightly different approach to presenting my photos. First, I print them out on canvas. Who knew you could print on canvas from your home computer?

Even though some of my flowers look like you could reach into the photo and pick them up, there was still a need for that extra little touch. I put some of them on art board and I had the idea to mount a few on blocks of wood! What fun! I plan to add several new pieces to my Etsy shop in the next couple of weeks.

I am a Mom, a Grammy, and an assistant art teacher for Youthful Expressions Studio. We have been teaching art to our YES-Kids, ages 7-14, since Nov. of 2007. We absolutely love it and our students are growing artistically by leaps and bounds.

I have two blogs, one of which is mostly personal and meant to update family and friends from back home. The other, Yes Studio in Action, is all about the art school.

I’ve been exposed to sewing and quilting for much of my life—my mom frequently sewed matching dresses for me and my sister, and I treasure the quilt she made for me as a child—and I’m thrilled to be able to share that love through my shop!

I love creating beautiful, fresh, modern items and I specialize in baby and toddler quilts. My own experience with the quilt my mother made for me and how much I still adore that childhood item (I’m 20-something . . . is that too old to still have my pink heart applique quilt on my bed? Oh well, it’ll stay) has inspired me to create beautiful quilts for children that they will love when they’re young and treasure even more after years of use.

From the bright and cheery colors to the updated take on traditional quilting ideas, I aim to make items that give a modern feel yet would fit easily into nearly any décor.

Beyond quilting, I also love sewing fun fabric accessories, and I can’t seem to stop making handbags! They say you can’t have too many, right? And with so many scrumptious fabrics to choose from, there’s no end in sight . . .

By trade, I am an accountant and needed an outlet for my creative side. Several years ago, I tried my hand a photography and found that I loved photographing nature, especially flowers. To my surprise, I found that others enjoyed my work so I decided to sell it at various places and opened a shop at Etsy – A Gift of Grace.

At the beginning of this year, I moved to a new state where I really didn’t know anyone and needed to find something to occupy my time. I decided to try my hand at making jewelry and found it very gratifying. I enjoy finding lovely pieces and making them into earrings, necklaces and bracelets. My goal is to make lovely, quality pieces that will be enjoyed for many years and that are affordable.

About a month ago, I started my new shop on Etsy – A Moment of Grace Jewelry. I asked a friend to critique my work and she came back with a phrase that I feel fits my work the best – ‘Modern with a touch of the past’.
