My Carry-Along Angel Activity Book is full of great crafts and activities to help little ones look forward to and prepare for Christmas. While mom and Dad are busy getting ready for Christmas, kids can also take part by making their own ornaments, gift boxes, cards and gift tags, as well as other cute crafts. This is a great way to harness some of that excited pre-Christmas energy!
My Carry-Along Angel Activity Book opens with an Advent calendar that has angel stickers to count down to Christmas day. I would have loved to see this idea continued by providing 24 days worth of activities. As it is, there are 15 projects/activities for kids to make and do. One such activity is the nativity story with stickers for the child to add. I would have also liked to see an Advent scripture verse to go along with each day to reinforce the anticipation of Jesus’s birthday celebration.
Girls will love the pink theme, but there are also some projects that brothers will enjoy taking part in–crafts like tree decorations and name plates. My own children are always excited to point out to visitors which decorations were made by their own hand, and to give gifts they made themselves.
My Carry-Along Angel Activity Book would make a great pre-Christmas gift for young ones (about ages 4-8), though I would offer one caution. Don’t hand the book over to pre-schoolers without a little bit of instruction! My excited 4-year-old immediately started placing stickers meant for specific projects in random places throughout the book. Luckily, she is not the perfectionist her older sisters are and just gave a giggle when she learned of her mistake.
