Most Prolific/Creative Contributor Award!

[ 23 ] August 10, 2010 |

As promised, on the 10th of every month, I give away a book of their choice to the most creative/prolific contributor to Luxury Reading!

This month, 3 readers were head to head…but the prize (for many months in a row) goes to…

Colleen Turner!

Kudos to RivkaBelle, Esme, Kelly H. and Tea for your great comments!

Please post a comment here with your book selection!

The contest is starting over today, and I will pick a new winner on the 10th of September. There is no limit to how many times you can win.

Remember, frequency of commenting counts, but so does the quality – a creative and relevant comment will get you more points than something like “sounds great”. Every month, I will pick a winner and post their name, as well as send them an e-mail. The winner can pick any paperback or hardcover book that is available on Amazon.com.

I would think that too many comments might start to get in the way of the blog master’s life.

Thanks for answering Vera. Actually, I am not sure that I have ever left more than one or two comments here on your great blog before so I know I didn’t deserve to win! So I am okay with Colleen winning also.

I have a blog that I started this year and I am still trying to find my niche in the blogosphere. I like looking at your blog because it has a lot going on that I can gleam ideas from.

Should Colleen really be winning every month? Perhaps she might be receiving an unfair bias toward always being the winner? How should one handle the same person winning repeatedly? I wonder…

Hey Sharon! If you go through the posts over the previous months, you’ll see that Colleen’s comments are everywhere, are well thought out and relevant to the post. I don’t want to prevent someone from winning just because they won the previous month. I’d love to give a book away to a different reader every month, but so far Colleen has well deserved every win.

Thanks guys! This is the only blog I have found that rewards the followers for just being devoted followers…it is just awesome! Bring on the competition :) ! Alright, I think I will go with The Queen’s Governess by Karen Harper (http://www.amazon.com/Queens-Governess-Karen-Harper/dp/0399156186/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I27EY92SFDRK4O&colid=3GEPZYLMQLO2Q). I am getting my fall/winter TBR pile ready and am really feeling the historical fiction. Thanks again, Vera, this is always so exciting!!!

Your selection looks like an interesting choice Colleen. Years ago, the movie ‘Anne of a Thousand Days’ got me hooked on Henry VIII and his six wives. I devoured movies and books on the era. I even went to England and visited Anne’s childhood home, Heaver Castle. It is a fascinating place with a moat and dark castle rooms. Henry gave Anne’s family home to another of his wive’s (I believe Anne of Cleves) after he had his wife beheaded. What a snake he was!

I would think being part of the court of Henry VIII would give an individual a great deal to be afraid of.
