I saw this article in the N.Y/Region section of the New York Times, and could not help mentioning it here.

Since her birthday on October 28th of 2008 (which also happens to be my birthday), Nina Sankovitch has been reading a book a day and posting reviews on her blog, Read All Day. So far, she’s read 349 books – everything from The Elegance of a Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery, to Payback by Margaret Atwood and The German Mujahid by Boualem Sansal. She began the project because she loves reading, but also to help herself deal with the sorrow she felt following her sister’s death in 2005. On her blog, Ms. Sankovitch wrote: “She was too young to die, she loved to read, I am fulfilling maybe even a fraction of the reading she should have had left to her.”
